minoxidil – topical, Rogaine
About: Minoxidil solution and foam are used to help hair growth in the treatment of male pattern baldness. It is not used for baldness at the front of the scalp or receding hairline in men. The 2 percent minoxidil solution is also used to help hair growth in women with thinning hair.
How to Use: Read and follow all directions on the product package before using this product. Clean and dry the scalp before applying the medication. Apply the solution to the affected area of the scalp and gently rub in. Apply twice a day or as directed by your doctor. Allow the solution to dry completely before using other styling products or before going to bed. To use the foam, apply about 1/2 capful to the scalp and rub in gently. Allow the foam to dry completely before styling or going to bed.
Side Effects: Burning, stinging, or redness at the application site may occur. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if these effects persist or worsen. Rarely, this medication can be absorbed through the skin and cause side effects. Stop using this medication and contact your doctor immediately if any serious side effects occur.
Precautions: Before using minoxidil, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it or any of its ingredients, or if you have any other allergies. Discuss any health problems you have with your doctor or pharmacist before using this product. During pregnancy, use this product only when clearly needed. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.
Drug Interactions: Before using this product, inform your doctor or pharmacist of all the products you use. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

Overdose: If swallowing or overdose is suspected, contact a poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Notes: Keep all regular medical and laboratory appointments.
Missed Dose: If you miss a dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.
Storage: Store the US product at room temperature away from moisture and sunlight. Store the Canadian product at room temperature away from light and moisture. Keep all medicines away from children and pets.
