Medication Uses How To Use Side Effects Precautions Drug Interactions Overdose Notes Missed Dose Storage USES: This medication is used to treat psoriasis. It helps reduce redness, thickening, and scaling of the skin. Healthy skin lowers the risk of infection and protects against the environment. This product contains 2 drugs. Betamethasone is a strong corticosteroid drug that decreases swelling, redness, and itching. Calcipotriene (calcipotriol) is a form of vitamin D. It slows down the growth of skin cells, preventing thickened, scaly patches. This product should not be used for certain types of psoriasis. Consult your doctor for more information. HOW TO USE: Read the Patient Information Leaflet provided by your pharmacist before starting this product. Apply a thin layer to the affected area(s) once daily or as directed by your doctor. Rub it in gently and completely. Wash hands after using, unless treating the hands. Avoid contact with the eyes. Do not use on the face, underarms, or groin area. Do not exceed the prescribed amount or frequency, as it may increase the risk of side effects. Inform your doctor if your condition does not improve or worsens. It may take up to a week to see improvement and up to 4 weeks to see the full benefit of this medication. SIDE EFFECTS: Itching, burning, redness, or skin irritation may occur. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if any of these effects persist or worsen. Serious side effects are unlikely but seek immediate medical attention if they occur. This is not a complete list of possible side effects. PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to betamethasone or calcipotriene, or if you have any other allergies. This medication should not be used if you have certain medical conditions. Consult your doctor before using this medication if you have a skin infection or reaction other than psoriasis. Avoid prolonged sun exposure and tanning while using this medication. Before surgery or emergency treatment, inform your doctor or dentist of your medication use. This medication may slow down a child’s growth if used for a long time. Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding should be discussed with your doctor. NOTES: Do not share this medication with others. Laboratory and medical tests may be performed periodically to monitor your progress or check for side effects. Try to identify and reduce triggers that may worsen your psoriasis. Discuss additional ways to control symptoms with your doctor. MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up. STORAGE: Store this product in the appropriate temperature range. Do not flush medications down the toilet or pour them into a drain. Properly discard this product when expired or no longer needed.
